Holly describes: “I had been up with her all night, knowing she would pass sometime this next day, and after hours of labored breathing, her breathing changed; she opened her eyes, and oh, the beauty was nothing I had ever seen on this plane…although I knew she was no longer “here,” I called her name, and she just continued to look at me, through me, past me, as she was already there…and her eyes had changed from the brunette brown she had carried throughout her life to an unblemished, unexpressed newborn baby’s blue grey hue. And in this moment, she had given me her greatest gift: this opportunity to be with her, to join her and assist her, to help her transition; she was at her most innocent and most vulnerable.”
